About Wesleyan University

Wesleyan University is a private liberal arts higher educational institution in Middletown, which is a city in Middlesex County, in the US state of Connecticut, with a population of more than 43 000 inhabitants, estimated during the 2000 census.

Wesleyan University was founded in 1831, as an all-male Methodist College, and, according to the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, it is the only Baccalaureate College in the nation that emphasizes undergraduate instruction in the arts and sciences, while also providing graduate research in many academic disciplines, mainly granting PhD degrees in the science and methematics.

Athletics
